Introduction

The rapid urbanization and dense population of Delhi have led to numerous challenges for its residents. Despite owning large properties, many residents find themselves lacking essential facilities and amenities. The city’s problems, such as cluttered roads, low air quality, parking issues, and outdated infrastructure, have long plagued its inhabitants. In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has championed the development of 100 modern cities across India, introducing the concept of smart cities to transform the urban landscape.

Many residents in West Delhi and other parts of the city face significant issues. Large homes, known as “kothis,” offer ample space but often lack modern amenities and facilities. Community spaces are small, safety and security are concerns, and there is no holistic environment to support a modern lifestyle. Additionally, the infrastructure is old, leading to problems like seepage and poor maintenance. This is where the vision of smart cities, such as the Smart City Delhi Airport (SCDA), comes into play.

Smart City: A Vision for the Future

Prime Minister Modi’s initiative aims to transform India’s urban landscape by developing 100 new, modern cities. One such ambitious project is the Smart City Delhi Airport (SCDA), strategically located along the Dwarka Expressway. Recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi, this expressway is the largest in India, with an investment of 2000 crores. The SCDA spans 250 acres, with individual project sizes ranging from 10 acres up to 32 floors.
